A.  Treasurer – Kerry Eisner-  November Balance Statement reviewed 1. Expences- spirit wear and PTO directory printing 2. Credit- from book fair at Edison.
   
B.  Correspondence – Stacey Heger    1.  Our appologies that room 214 6th grade Advisory at Lincoln was missing from the directory.  If you purchased a directory and want this class listing it can be picked up from the Lincoln secretary.    2.  We have a thank you card from Fund 69 for spirit wear donation for the walk-a-thon

D.  Parent Education – Claudia Schmidt    1.  Our First parent Ed night was Nov 8th.  It was a big success!! We would like to thank Madison (Mrs. Maxwell, the teachers, Madison staff, babysitting)  There were over 300 people in attendence/ 4 sessions incuding ELL parent center, healthy living,  The brain, and  behavior management. All kids in attendance recieved goodie bags and a charm.  2.  Our second Parent Ed night is in February at Edison.  3.Lincoln's Parent Ed night is still beging determined
   
E.  Fundraising - Patty O'Malley    1.  We finished our Gift Wrap fundraising.  We are very pleased with the outcome of our fundraiser!  We would like to continue with this fundrasier becuase it appeals to our families.   This fundraiser pays for things like the Mosaic at Madison and these fund go directly to the schools. 2.  Curragh fundraiser's are the first Tuesday of each month.  We get 18% of the proceedes.  3.  Market Day proceeds are discussed.
    

4.  Administrative Reports    
A.  Dr. Shepherd    1.  Dr. Shepherd is handing out a lengthy report (14 pages)  Administration has created a Googledoc that   Common Core- There is a Common Core app on the website.  You can click on the tab and it opens up the entire common core map so you can know what kids need to master.  There are high standards.  We have adopted new textbooks, ISAT tests change in anticipation for the common core, they have incresased the cut score.  IREADY testing is getting great feedback from our students and this testing is connected to the common core.  A study is being pioleted in district 69 as a timestudy and the company has hired a statustician for our school district and the district was able to barter the tests for our participating in the testing.  The goal is to assess mastery at at particular grade level.  When the test is given a grade level equivelent is with the testing.  But in our piolet not all students are recieveing the same "treatment"  - in essence we are collecting data with this piolet.  2.  21's century learning grant - a Director for after school programing will be hired who will be collecting Data- Attendance/ Behavior/ Common Core  and they will plug students into after school programming after school.  for example - Big Brothers/ Big Sisters,  in essence if we can find the kids who are interesting we can find the programming.  This will be effective once a Director is in place.  This is in place for all kids.  The grant was written for "at risk" students.  Current after school activities will continue to be in place.  There is no cost to the district for the director or the programmer.  The grant will run out eventually (5 years)  we may be able to write a second grant to extend the grant for another 5 years.  Then we will need to have a focus - can we find a funding source (discussion occur's about afterschool programming and a comparison to some programming that occurs at Walker in Evanston)  3.  Construction -Madison is PACKED!  We are having conversations of what the furture building needs will look like.  There are 4 full preschool rooms.   Space is discussed.   There is a huge need for preschool programming.  4.  Dual language grant writing being explored.  5.  Items being discussed at the board retreat are discussed.  5.  Registrations changes 6.  School Schedules 7.  Madison Parent Ed night.  8.  Advisory at Lincoln going well.  9.  Overature item is going well at Lincoln.  10.  2014-2015 School Calender.  - No major changes to the Calender for next year.  There will be no change for the calender in 13-14.  District 219 votes in December.  We will have to respond accordingly when 219 makes their call.  11.  Crosswalk - Safety issue discussion 12.  Administrative report atht goes to the Board of Ed.  - these are all online and they can be downloaded.  13.  Students are performing well.  We have had some skyrocketing student achievement in some classes.  Example is given that has been in place for Madison Students. 14. Committee Reports   
   
A.  Book Fair - Kerry Eisner and Laurie Koniarski    The book fair made 4500 in sales.  We took all our profits in scholatsic dollars.  Lincolna nd Madison Fairs will be in April
   
B.  Community Relations - Chuck Waters    Food pantry- Madison and Edison have done wonderful job promoting the pantry.  We have volunteers for Fine Arts Boosters this well as well
   
C.  Ecology - Eileen Rapoport    Email's were sent out from Ecology.  Electronics- phone laptops, mp3 players.  Any discards are requested. 
   
D. Market Day - Laura Ferrigno    Pie Drive- We had a good month.  We donated 15 pies to the food pantry.  Thank you from the families who donated.  Next month is cookie dough bonus days.  We get 40% profit if we meet a certain ammount of cookie dough orders. 
   
E. Fine Arts Boosters -  Patrick Lezark    Not in Attendance
   
F.  Niles West Liaison - Mona Helgeson    Niles West will not be recommended that every student has to take a lunch so they can take choir.  They are keeping honors english and social studies in 11th grade.  recommending a August 12 start.  There is a play this weekned.  Friday at 4 and 7  it is called Freddy the Frog.

    Announcements    Lincoln Concert is tomorrow night at 6:30. 
     Next week is the Skokie School Play.  You have to reserve tickets online.

Each moth the PTO helps collect donations of food items that we deliver to the Food Pantry.  October is canned food month.  Please send your child to school with a can of Beans, Vegetables, Fruit, etc.. to be donated to the food pantry.  Thank you for your continued support of our community!
