My Teaching Philosophy

When students come into my classroom I establish a warm, nurturing environment for them so they are able to relax and feel free to explore using all their senses. I believe that children learn best through play and active hands-on exploration. I create lessons that will enrich their background knowledge on different subject areas. Each week a new theme is introduced. All of the art projects and learning centers are based around those themes to enrich the learning experience for all students.

My Classroom Schedule
We follow a consistent routine every day in the classroom:
Drop Off
Sign-In and Attendance
Circle Time
Free Choice Time
Clean Up and Snack
Circle Time
Pack Up
Outside Play
Dismissal

The classroom environment is play-based, with an emphasis on literacy. The schedule provides daily opportunities for growth in all developmental areas--gross and fine motor, speech and language, social/emotional, and thinking skills.
