STOMP OUT BULLYING  

OUCH BULLYING HURTS- especially with WORDS!

Over the last couple of weeks, I had the opportunity to work with all the students at Madison about bullying. On February 27, 2013, Madison worked together to STOMPING OUT BULLYING! Harold the Hawk made a special guest appearance and awarded students with a NO BULLY CHARM and certificate. Bullying is something that can happen anywhere and to anyone. Please continue to talk with your child about bullying and how to deal with a bully if they are being bullied.

Below are some helpful tips:

• Use your indoor voice and stay calm.
• Try to make friends by reacting with humor.
• Walk away and do something else.
• Stand up for yourself when you need to.
• Stick up for others that may be bullied.
• Ask an adult or friend for help.
• Tell someone you trust.

The three HAROLD THE HAWK winners from this week were Gavin (Rm. 12), Peter (Rm. 19), and Jaela (Rm. 8).  They earned a hawk feather for being PEACEMAKERS and acting safe, respectful, and responsible. Congratulations to the BISTRO winners- Rm. 17, Rm. 27, and Rm. 8.
