Super bOwl Writing System

Writing is like a game, any game. There are rules you MUST follow in order to play properly. Writing is the same way, there are rules. For the Super bOwl Writing System here are the rules you must follow to "play" right:

  1. Stay in-bounds (margins)!
  2. Know your position on the field and "be" in the right place at all times. This is true for every game. For writing this would mean center your title, name/date in the proper location, indent at the start of each paragraph etc.
  3. Proper equipment is necessary for all sports, writing too! Clean, unwrinkled looseleaf paper, sharpened pencils and notebooks. Whatever you need to play the game be sure you have it handy!
  4. There are four quarters in a football game, for a writing assignment there are four (or more) parts. An introductory paragraph, two descriptive paragraphs and a strong conclusion. Sometimes there is overtime (more paragraphs!).
  5. Every sport requires a strong start and a strong finish (opening paragraph and conclusion).
  6. When you are on a team you must communicate clearly (neat writing, punctuation).
  7. If you break the rules in football they throw a yellow flag. This indicates a penalty. All football players try to avoid penalties (yellow on your paper = penalty!).
  8. We play sports to have fun. Think of writing as a sport, have fun!!
