Welcome to Room 27 !
Room 27 is a co-taught classroom. Co-teaching is a very effective teaching model. Two people share the responsibility for teaching some or all of the students assigned to a classroom. Both teachers are equally responsible for planning, delivering instruction, and evaluating students progress. Co-teaching allows for greater differentiated instruction to meet the individual needs of all students.
Meet Mrs. Hennelly
My name is Julie Hennelly. This is my first year teaching 1st grade at Madison School. For the past 11 years, I taught 3rd grade at Edison School. I love being a teacher! My family and I live in Lake Villa. When I am not teaching, I enjoy going for walks with my dog Kiwi, riding my bike in the forest preserve, paddleboating on Deep Lake, and playing the guitar and piano. My family and I share a love for animals and the outdoors. We have an African spur tortoise, Yorkshire terrier, leopard gecko, African claw frogs, painted turtle, and a crested bearded dragon!
Meet Mrs. Rossi
Hi! My name is Beth Rossi. This is my 9th year teaching 1st grade at Madison School. I love first grade! I have a true passion for teaching reading, writing, and math. It's neat to see how a child grows from the beginning of first grade to the end! My husband and I live on the northwest side of Chicago. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am super excited for this year!
