Cool Author Sites! We have many books by these authors in our library. Many are "just right" for our PreK through Grade 2 learners. Listed in ABC order by last name.
Tedd Arnold	From the author of the Fly Guy books. Among other things, learn how to draw Fly Guy!!
Frank Asch	Information about his books, teacher resources, several animated stories for children to watch.
Jan Brett	A site packed full of printable activities, coloring sheets, posters, cards and more, all with characters from her beloved books, like Hedgie and the Gingerbread Baby.
Eric Carle	Not a lot of interaction for kids, but interesting slideshows demonstrating how he uses tissue collage to make his pictures.
Beverly Cleary	Kids can learn more about characters Ramona, Henry, Beezus and Ralph S. Mouse. Games and other activities as well.
Doreen Cronin	Answers questions, activities for classrooms based on Click, Clack, Moo and Diary of a Worm, and suggestions for writing activities.
Diane deGroat	The author of "Gilbert" books like Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire has activities and coloring pages for a number of her books.
Tomie dePaola	Not a lot for kids, but calendar has trivia questions about his books as well as his author visits.
Ed Emberley	Kids who like to draw will enjoy the drawing activities created by the author.
Denise Fleming	Kids can learn how to make paper collages like the author. Site also includes games, bookmarks, word searches, etc. tied to many of Fleming's books.
Mem Fox	Very educational website for students, teachers and parents. Mem talks about the stories behind her books (like Koala Lou), shares recipes, and demonstrates how to read-aloud to children.
Kevin Henkes	Caldecott winning author has activities to go with his "Mouse" books, like Lily's Purple Plastic Purse, Wemberley Worried and Chrysanthemum.
Laurie Keller	Site has activities for some of her books, like Scrambled States of America and Arnie the Doughnut. Interactive games for kids are expected soon.
Loreen Leedy	Site has books sorted by topics. Several books have downloadable or printable activities to go with them. Leedy also discusses how she writes and illustrates her books.
Megan McDonald	Author of Judy Moody and Stink series. Information for teachers and students and a few activities for kids like "Design your own Band-Aid". More can be found at the Judy Moody and Stink sites listed below.
Bernard Most	Best known for his fiction and non-fiction books with dinosaur themes. Activities include printable dinosaur coloring pages and puzzles.
Robert Munsch	Great storyteller and author of books like The Mud Puddle and Thomas' Snowsuit.
Laura Numeroff	Author of If You Give a Mouse a Cookie has some e-cards and a few activities for children, including writing prompts.
Margie Palatini	A site filled with activities, games, bookmarks, coloring pages, reader's theater, etc. tied to her hilarious books....like The Cheese, Sweet Tooth and Bad Boys.
Sara Pennypacker	The author of the Clementine and several Flat Stanley books talks about the writing process. More useful for teachers and parents.
Dav Pilkey	The author of the Captain Underpants books has information about all his books and some "Groovy Games" to play with characters from his books.
Patricia Polacco	Lists each of her published books, including a summary, background info on the story, and a variety of activities and printables to go with the story.
Shel Siverstein	Very engaging, interactive site designed in the style of the late Shel Silverstein. Site includes printables, downloadable poetry kids, bookmarks and activities. Kids can see animated versions of several of his poems.
Audrey & Don Wood	These author/illustrators discuss their writing, share activities and have information for parents and teachers. Kids can join the clubhouse.

Cool Book Sites Find sites for your favorite books and characters!
Pigeon Presents	Wonderful interactive site with games, coloring pages and interesting facts about well-known characters like Pigeon, Elephant & Piggie and Knuffle Bunny.
Fancy Nancy	Learn how to call things by their "fancy" names. There are downloadable coloring pages, games and other activities. Plan a "Fancy Nancy" party or fashion show with the kits!
Mercer Mayer Little Critters	Kids can download puzzles and coloring pages with Little Critters characters. Sing songs with Mercer Mayer himself (you can print out the song sheets!). Watch short videos like "B is for Critter" (need FLASH for songs and video). Great for Pre-K.
Charlie and Lola	Cute site with games like the "Pink Milk Game" and "Hooley Hooping". Also has "colouring" pages and downloadable wallpapers for your computer! Learn about the characters and watch a short video!
Arthur	PBS site with lots of printable coloring pages of the assorted characters from the show. Lots to see and do!
Clarice Bean	Clarice has her own website with wallpapers and screensavers for your computer. Take her quiz or find out about all her books.
Skippyjon Jones	Visit Skippyjon's Closet to hear the latest Skippyjon news and find coloring pages to download and print!
Superhero ABC	Bob McCloud's page has sample pages from his popular book. Print coloring pages and see photos of children who have dressed up like superheroes.
Judy Moody	Download and print instructions to make Mood Rings and Origami Fortunetellers among many other neat activities. Keep track of the Judy Moody books you read on her checklist!
Stink	Stink doesn't want to have to share his website with his big sister, so he gets his own! You can read interesting facts about him, make your own comic book, create your own guinea pig and lots more!
Berenstain Bears	Visit Barn Theater to watch movies or go to Activities to read an interactive story book, print coloring pages, play dress-up and more!
Clifford	Another PBS site that includes online read-alouds, games, coloring pages and more! There is a section for teachers and parents for activities tied to different topics like "responsibility", "helping others" and "being safe". Good for Pre-K
Jon Scieska's Trucktown	Kids familiar with Scieska's Trucktown books like Smash! Crash! will enjoy getting to know the characters, playing games and downloading coloring pages and full-color posters to decorate with! Good for PreK.
Seussville	Visit the Playground to play online games or to print games on paper. Kids can create their own stories with Seuss characters in the Story Maker. Very fun site!
Pinkalicious	Elizabeth Kann, author of Pinkalicious and Purplicious has party ideas, "pink" activities and other information for teachers & parents.
